Here is a look at our expert’s breakdown of the best NBA bets of the night.
Sacramento Kings (-2.5, 232.5) at Charlotte Hornets
This line seems off and people betting on this game agree. The Kings have not looked great so far, but have had a very difficult schedule. The Kings started 0-4 against an improved Portland team, barely lost to the Clippers, and then had to face the Warriors and Grizzlies. They’re coming off their first win, an impressive one against Miami and the numbers show they are the better team.
As of this morning, the Kings are getting almost 66% of the bets and a whopping 86% of the money bet on them, which has increased the line to -3 at some sportsbooks. But even at -3, we still think there is value in taking Sacramento.
The Hornets did beat the Warriors on Saturday, which is something, but the Warriors shot poorly and the Hornets had to rely on a great game from PJ Washington. Charlotte is still without Terry Rozier and LaMelo Ball and our models show the Kings should be closer to -4 or -4.5.
Indiana Pacers (+8.5, 235) at Brooklyn Nets
The Pacers have played surprisingly well so far this season, continuing to hover around .500 after two straight wins coming into this one. They just played the Nets two days ago, and picked up a 125-166 victory. The majority of the public money is on the Nets +8.5, but there has been some sharp action coming in on the Pacers recently.
On Saturday, the Nets were able to take advantage of the Nets defense, which currently ranks last in the league in both points per game (122.2) and 3PT% (43.8%) allowed. Expect another big game tonight from the backcourt duo of Buddy Hield and Tyrese Haliburton as the Pacers keep this one inside the number.
