Below are the best bets recommended by our panel of experts for tonight’s Monday Night Football game.
New Orleans Saints (+3, 41) vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Both of these teams have ineffective offenses and have struggled to score throughout most of the season. The Saints have huge quarterback issues and Tom Brady has not looked like Tom Brady recently. Both teams average less than two points per drive on offense and convert on third down less than 40% of the time.
On the other side of the ball though, the defenses have played very well, especially against the pass. Neither of these two teams have run the ball effectively this season, which sets up for a very slow offensive game.
Another thing to consider is the primetime and divisional unders this season. This season, divisional under are 36-22 (62.1%), while primetime unders have hit at 53.8% this season. Based on all this, we like this game to go under 41 points.
Jarvis Landry O/U 38.5 Receiving Yards (-120)
Jarvis Landry has only played 56% of the snaps the last two weeks, and has become a fleeting part of this offense. Landry has had eight catches on 14 targets in the last three games and mustered just 90 receiving yards. He has been running more and more underneath routes for 5-7 yard gains.
Landry has only reached 38.5 receiving yards once this season, and as stated above, the pass defenses for both teams have exceled this season. The Buccaneers are ranked fifth in yards after catch allowed and sixth in yards per reception over. Since Landry doesn’t run a lot of deep routes, it seems highly unlikely that he’ll be able to shake free for some big gainers.
We like the under on Landry receiving yards.
