Take a look at our expert’s top bets for the final Wild Card Weekend game tonight.
Dallas Cowboys (-2.5, 45) vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers
First off, Tom Brady is a home underdog. The Buccaneers’ defense is No. 9 in yards allowed per game and dominated the Cowboys when they met in Week 1. As you will see in our next recommendation, we expect Brady and Evans to continue their recent success against an injured Cowboys secondary.
There is some recent sharp action that came in on the Cowboys, but that has not affected the spread, showing that the sport books don’t believe what the sharps are selling. We are going to stop short of recommending the Buccaneers moneyline as the Cowboys should be a slight favorite, but we like the Buccaneers +2.5.
Mike Evans Over/Under 65.5 receiving yards (-110)
Before Mike Evans erupted for 207 yards and three touchdowns in Week 17, he was having a very slow second half of the season. However, Brady seems to be incorporating him into the offense more recently, including with several deep targets per week.
The Cowboys secondary is weakened by the injury to cornerback Anthony Brown. Evans had 71 yards receiving when the teams met earlier this season. If Tampa Bay is struggling to run the ball or get behind early, they will likely transition to a pass-heavy attack, which will bode well for Evans.
There should be lots of receptions to go around, and the Buccaneers have just enough other weapons in the passing game to prevent Dallas from throwing blanket coverage at Evans.
We like Mike Evans Over 65.5 receiving yards
