NCAA Tournament Sweet 16: Friday’s Top Bets
March 24, 2023

Below are our expert’s picks for the top bets for the remaining games of the NCAA Sweet 16.

Xavier (+4.5, 149) vs Texas

Texas has been playing much better defense over the last few weeks and has allowed just 58.2 ppg over its last six games. The Musketeers have been limiting foes to 66.3 ppg on 38.6% shooting over their last four games despite facing Top-30 offenses in Creighton, Marquette, and Pittsburgh during that span. Given this, and almost every team struggling with outside shooting in this tourney, points may be hard to come by.

Our system is also showing that the under is coming in on 55% of the projections.

We like Under 149.

Princeton (10, 140.5) vs Creighton

There is a chance here that Creighton overlooks the 15th-seeded Tigers because a matchup against top-seeded Alabama looms, but that seems unlikely given we are now in the Sweet 16.

Princeton held Missouri to 6-for-22 shooting on 3-pointers, dominated the offensive glass and firmly rolled to victory in the second round, but they won’t sneak up on Creighton with five days to prepare.

The history of double-digit seeds as double-digit underdogs in the Sweet 16 isn’t great for Princeton – 1-16 straight up, with Saint Peter’s toppling Purdue last year as the lone victory.

Creighton has 17 wins by double figures this season, and sharps are expecting this to continue. Creighton is currently getting only 35% of the bets but have 62% of the money on them.

We like Creighton -10
