Early 2023 World Series Odds
November 8, 2022

The 2022 baseball season just ended a few days ago, but that won’t stop us from taking a way-too-early look ahead to the 2023 season. Sportsbooks have released their odds, so let’s take a dive item them.

As expected, the Los Angeles Dodgers are the favorites to win the World Series, as they are every year, with a price of +500. The Dodgers may have some turnover from last year as the likes of Clayton Kershaw, Craig Kimbrel and Trea Turner become free agents, but even if they are unable to resign any of them, they are expected to be active in the offseason and have the vast majority of the team returning.

The defending champion Houston Astros have the shortest odds of the American League with a price of +550. The Astros will have most of their 2022 remain in tact, and should be a force in the American League again next season.

The NL East champion and 2021 World Series champion Atlanta Braves are +800, while the Toronto Blue Jays and New York Yankees represent the AL East at +1000. Next, the New York Mets, who have already spent bog money on closer Edwin Diaz and are expected to add a few additional pieces, are next at +1200.

The reigning NL champion Philadelphia Phillies are +1500, just below the team they beat in the NLCS, as the San Diego Padres are +1400. The Seattle Mariners and Chicago White Sox are priced at +1900 after these teams had opposites seasons in 2022, when the Mariners played surprising well and outperformed expectations, while the White Sox had one of the most disappointing seasons in all of MLB.
